Fruit Salad with Lemon-Lavender Syrup

I am not complaining, but it is hot in Portland.  After a fun weekend of camping and eating a bunch of junk food I needed something light and refreshing.  I came across this awesome recipe via Greatist for a fruit salad with lemon-lavender syrup.  Its perfect for the summer, and gave me a chance to use some lavender we picked a couple weeks ago.

What You’ll Need:
fresh fruit: (nectarines, peaches, plums, strawberries, and cherries)
honey and/or agave to taste
1/2 cup water
1/2 fresh lemon
couple of fresh or dried lavender buds
What to Do:
In a small saucepan, honey and agave, water, and lemon juice and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Stir to dissolve sweeteners. Remember this is a syrup so make it sweet
Add lavender buds and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside. Let steep for at least 15 minutes.
While syrup and steeping, wash and pit the fruit and cut into bite-sized pieces.
Mix fruit in a large bowl and drizzle with the lemon-lavender syrup. Refrigerate for at least an hour or up to 1 or 2 days.
Serve chilled and enjoy!
